New Music: Eminem - 'The Warning' (Mariah Carey Diss)

7/31/2009 0
After Mariah Carey alluded to Eminem on "Obsessed", the rapper fires back on "The Warning" by sharing a detailed description of their alleged relationship.

Photobucket

To say Mariah got roasted would be an understatement, and after thinking the situation through, I'm trying to figure out what Em would gain by lying. What's the point or purpose? Seriously, that alone leads you to believe there truly was more to the relationship than Mariah lets on.

Still, putting her business on front street is very childish of Em, and the fact that Mariah still refuses to acknowledge the relationship, proves that maybe he is a little "obsessed" with the singer. Everyone can't handle rejection and it feels like Em is letting his frustation out through his music.

Having said that, Mariah needs to move on and stop trying to play games that she's clearly not ready to finish, because she knew (just like we all knew) that Em wouldn't take "Obsessed" lying down and that he would fire back with something that caught the audience's attention on a wider scale.

"Party in the USA", is a new track from Miley Cyrus that hails from her upcoming EP, The Time of Our Lives, which will be released exclusively to Walmart stores on August 31st and coincide with her new clothing line.

Miley EP Cover

Although her voice can be extremely annoying (at times), this track rides the grounds of solid with the essence of its laid back, summer feel. The songstress is currently filming the adapation of Nicholas Sparks' hit book, The Last Song, which centers around a rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father.

Letoya Luckett

While I think the song is pretty good, the subject matter of her music is becoming a little restricted within the bounds of relationships gone bad. That said, I'm still looking forward to her album's release.

Sexy songstress Shakira unleashes her claws in the Jake Nava-directed video for "She Wolf", the first single from her new English album due in October.

When the cut originally surfaced, I pointed out that one of the elements that would determine its success, would be contingent on the video's ability to consummate hotness. Having said that, it's safe to say that the songstress passed with flying colors, from the sexy choreography to the all around refreshing uniqueness that she epitomizes, it simply works.

Music icon Madonna pushes the party into overdrive on the Paul Oakenfold-produced “Celebration”, the first offering from her third greatest hits album.

Madonna

To put it simply, the song fails to become anything more than just okay. As a fan of Madonna, when comparing this track to her recent lead singles "Hung Up" and "4 Minutes", it just feels lazy, dated and really uninspiring, especially considering the legendary source from which it flows.

Demi Lovato Is 'Here' At No.1; Jordin Sparks Defeated

7/30/2009 0
Disney star Demi Lovato scores her first No.1 album with her sophomore set Here We Go Again, while Jordin Sparks notches her second Top 10 debut.
Demi Lovato rules the Billboard 200 chart this week, as the Disney singer/actress' sophomore album "Here We Go Again" (Hollywood Records) debuts at No. 1 with 108,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her first set, "Don't Forget," bowed at No. 2 less than a year ago with 89,000.

Lovato's debut marks the fourth No. 1 album of the year for Disney Music Group - a record for the company. Previous chart-toppers in 2009 were Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable,"the "Hannah Montana: The Movie" soundtrack and Jonas Brothers' "Lines, Vines and Trying Times." Disney had three albums debut at No. 1 in both 2007 and 2006.

But while Lovato ruled the Billboard 200, Michael Jackson once again had the best-selling album. The King of Pop's 2003 hits set "Number Ones" tops the all-encompassing Top Comprehensive Albums chart by shifting 154,000 copies, down 21% from the week prior. (Top Comprehensive Albums ranks the top selling albums in the country, regardless of age; whereas the Billboard 200 houses only new and current titles -- generally those less than 18 months old.)

Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Jordin Sparks' sophomore album "Battlefield" fights its way to a No. 7 debut, selling 48,000 copies. It's the "American Idol" winner's second top 10 set, as her 2007 self-titled debut entered and peaked at No. 10 with 119,000.

Last week's No. 1 album, Daughtry's "Leave This Town," falls to No. 2 with just under 101,000 copies (down 63%). Maxwell's "BLACKsummers'night" slips one spot to No. 3 with 72,000 (down 30%) while the "Now 31" album holds at No. 4 with 58,000 (down 17%). The "Hannah Montana 3" TV soundtrack falls to slots to No. 5 with 54,000 (down 26%) while the Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D." is down one to No. 6 with 52,000 (down 4%).

Rounding out the top 10 is Kings of Leon's "Only By The Night" moving up two positions to No. 8 with 39,000 (up 19%), Taylor Swift's "Fearless" staying course at No. 9 with 37,000 (up less than 2%) and Lady GaGa's "The Fame" climbing one rung to No. 10 with 28,000 (down 9%).

Kim Kardashian & Reggie Bush Call It Quits

7/28/2009 0
After two years of dating, reality star Kim Kardashian and her football beau Reggie Bush have called it quits.
Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend of two years, New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, are going their separate ways, the reality star's rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The pair, who recently returned from a charity trip to Africa with Kardashian's sister Khloe, just last May talked about "heading" toward marriage, but sources tell PEOPLE their relationship suffered from the time they spent apart – with yet another separation looming with the upcoming NFL season.

"They never get to see each other, ever," the source says. "It's been a long time coming. They still love each other and are part of their lives, but Reggie spends six months out of the year in New Orleans, so it's tough."

Kardashian, 28, the star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, had been dating Bush, 24, since 2007. The couple were seen as the perfect Hollywood pair, stepping out on red carpets and posing for a GQ spread together.

"They were the cutest couple," another source tells PEOPLE. "They loved each other so much but they hardly saw each other. He starts his football training camp this week and she starts filming Keeping up with the Kardashians this week. They just need a break right now."

So sad, because we really loved these two together.

The new leaks from Cassie's forthcoming album, Electro Love, just continue to flood the net, this time with the Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins-produced "Stamina".

At this point, there's no need to criticize Cassie's vocal abilities or lack thereof, because we all know the chick can't sing to save her life. That said, this track is an effective outline towards the type of music she needs to pursue making, given it's infectious and most importantly, requires minimal vocal talent.

Soul crooner Robin Thicke gets a little dirty on the Scott Storch-produced "Dirty It Up", which hails from the recording sessions of his upcoming fourth album. The album is slated for release in the fall and will feature contributions from new producers Surf Club and songwriter Jeffrey Bahsker.

The uptempo track is very much in the vein of his signature sound, but mixed with a funky and sexy energy that helps it thrive. He lets his lover live out her sexual fantasies and not in a very subtle way, in fact, he bluntly suggests, do you want to “f**k in the rain”. Sexiness, to say the least.

R&B star Cassie will release the Akon-assisted "Let's Get Crazy", as the next single from her forthcoming sophomore album, Electro Love. The track previously leaked in March, but this is said to be the official and final version.

Cassie 'Lets Get Crazy' Cover

While it does have somewhat of a Pop appeal that wasn't apparent in her earlier singles "Official Girl" and "Must Be Love", it still fails to become anything other than pure rubbish. As one of those who thought her debut album was solid, the missing element of Ryan Leslie, who oversaw a bulk of her first project, seems to have the Ms.Ventura stuck at a standstill.
