NEW MUSIC: ADAM LAMBERT - 'FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT' [OFFICIAL LEAD SINGLE]

10/30/2009 0
American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert spices thing up on "For Your Entertainment", the lead single and title track from his debut album (due November 23rd).

This is sinfully good. The upbeat dance cut was produced by Dr. Luke, who also hemmed Britney Spears' "Circus", and excels with a catchy nature that will only add to its chance at success. Truth be told, this is a risky move for the singer, given the track doesn't skimp on the raunchy or sexual factors, but ultimately it works.

BRITNEY SPEARS - '3' [VIDEO]

10/30/2009 0
Superstar Britney Spears gets naughty in the sexy video for her No.1 single "3", which was directed by Diane Martel and hails from her forthcoming greatest hits compilation, The Singles Collection (now due November 10th).

Hate to say it, but this is not good by any means. Of course, Ms. Spears looks great and still effortlessly exudes sex appeal, but as a whole the visual just comes off sluggish, lazy and lacking the creativity that we've come to expect from the star.

Personally, I look at the whole 'Circus' era as a rebuilding phase for the once troubled star, given everything from the videos to her performances were simplified, in a conscious effort to avoid putting too much pressure on her to deliver, especially in a period where lots of people were counting her out.

That said, I do think the singer has to 'bring it' with the next era, because you can only overlook these mishaps for so long.

NEW MUSIC: ALICIA KEYS - 'TRY SLEEPING WITH A BROKEN HEART' [OFFICIAL 2ND SINGLE]

10/29/2009 0
12x Grammy winner Alicia Keys can't seem to find a cure for her sleepless nights on "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart", the second single from her forthcoming fourth album, The Element of Freedom (due December 15th).

The Jeff Bhasker-produced cut has a retro vibe with a slight Hip-hop influence that sees the songstress surprisingly diving into new territory. To put it simply, the track is stellar and in my opinion, would have served as much better opening than "Doesn't Mean Anything", which is at a standstill on the charts.
