According to Hot 97, Usher called in last night to DJ Clue's radio show and said this: "The collabo, Love In The Club Part II, was supposed to be me and Mariah but L.A. Reid nixed the idea because he didn't want the song to interfere with Mariah's chart position. I got mad love for Mariah, but that's kind of dumb, how is my song going to interfere with her chart run. My songs already bigger than hers".
The Internet has been much a buzz about his comments, which I think were taken out of context. 'Love in This Club' and 'Touch My Body', currently sit at no. 4 and no. 5 respectively, so its not like he's lying.
