Nominations for the 60th Primetime Emmy® Awards (covering the period of June 1, 2007 through May 31, 2008) were announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre, North Hollywood, California.

"A Raisin in the Sun" earned 3 nods -- Outstanding Made for Television Movie, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Phylicia Rashad) and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie (Audra McDonald). Also nominated was Alfre Woodard for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie, "Pictures Of Hollis Woods;" Vanessa Williams, Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, "Ugly Betty;" Chandra Wilson, Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, "Grey's Anatomy;" Glynn Turman, Guest Actor in a Drama Series, "In Treatment;" and Diahann Carroll, Guest Actress in a Drama Series, "Grey's Anatomy."

HBO's "John Adams" led with 23 nominations. NBC's "30 Rock" was the top nominee among sitcoms with 17 nods while "Mad Men" was the leading drama series contender with 16 nominations. AMC's "Mad Men" and FX's "Damages" made Emmy nominations history Thursday as the first basic cable programs to gain best-series nods.

Snubbed once again, "The Wire," HBO's critically acclaimed series that just ended its 5 year run lost its final shot at a best-drama nod but was nominated for its writing.

The 60th Primetime Emmy® Awards will be held on Sept. 21 and televised live on ABC from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
A complete list of nominations can be found at www.emmys.tv.

Despite his critically acclaimed performance, Sean 'Diddy' Combs failed to nab a nominations, as did Britney for her performance on the CBS hit 'How I Met Your Mother', also two of my other faves Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross of 'Desperate Housewives' were shut out.
