R&B group RichGirl offer an insightful listen of the music from their forthcoming debut album with the full length "Lucky You Are" and snippets of "Millionaire", "Get Ya Swagga Right" and "Back 2 the Club".
"Lucky You Are": The piano ballad is equipped with a thumping bass that strives as the girls enviously tell the story of wishing they were in the shoes of having someone to loved them. Their voices collectively blend and its refreshing to hear more than one voice taking the lead, as they playfully chime "I hope you know what you got".
"Millionaire": The mid-tempo track transitions back and forth between paces as they deliver a refreshing take on the age old story of not needing money as long as your with the one your love. A nice track, however, I have to point out that the superb production is its driving force.
"Get Ya Swagga Right": A cocky and sassy track that sees the girls telling you to bring your A game swagger, while offering a dose of their own. Obviously, the weakest of the four, but still a solid track that effectively accomplishes its purpose.
"Back 2 The Club": The title doesn't exactly become cohesive with the term ballad, but thats exactly what the track turns out to be. It epitomizes the essence of hotness and just like the previous two snippets, it makes the listener want more, which is the ultimate goal of a snippet. The girls (Brave, Lyndriette, Seven and Audra) have quickly won me over with their uniqueness and throwback to the great girl groups of Destiny's Child and TLC, and in a business where talent and originality offers hit and miss results, I can only hope they are given a fair shot.
