Whitney Houston Performs On 'Good Morning America'

Legendary singer Whitney Houston delivered her first crop of public live performances, when she took the stage on ABC's 'Good Morning America' to perform her hits "Million Dollar Bill", "I Look To You", "My Love Is Your Love" and "I'm Every Woman".

Starting with the positive, the singer looked great and her energy was off the charts, but unfortunately those vocals were not. Even with editing from ABC, these performances seem to verify the claims that the songstress is now a studio singer (at best), which is quite the turn of events, given she was once hailed as one of, if not, the greatest voice in recent history.

Just like fellow diva Mariah Carey, who hasn't turned out a worthy performance since the Grammy Awards in 2007, it just seems like her live voice is nearly shot and clearly holds a fragment of the power it once owned. Not to pit the two divas against one another, but it is easier to understand the deterioration of Whitney's voice, since she has endured a much-publicized battled with drugs.

That said, the singer has blamed her lukewarm performances on the tapings for her upcoming stint on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show', which was expanded from one episode to two (given the lengthy interview).

Either way, that still doesn't excuse these poor performances, but if that truly is the case (crosses fingers) then her next outings should result in a different review and showcase more of the voice that is displayed on her stellar new album.
