The wait is officially ova. Rihanna plays a dangerous game on the Ne-Yo written "Russian Roulette", the first single from her highly anticipated fourth album, Rated R (due November 23rd).
So does Ms. Fenty match the hype or drop the ball?
Well, the answer to that question depends on how you look at the situation, because while the cut is equipped with a dark and controversial nature that is only heighten by the lyrics and Ms. Fenty's vocal delivery, which I might add are much improved.
It would not be a stretch to deem the track as dull, slightly boring and lacking the appeal of that should be housed within a first single. It has its moments and the production is really sleek, especially the gun shot at the end, but I still can't help feeling a little shortchanged.
That said, her marketing team has done a really top-notch job of hyping the single, so that alone will push it into heavy rotation.
