Earlier this year, R&B star Usher filed papers to end his marriage to wife Tameka Foster and now the single stud sings about it on "Papers", the first single from his sixth studio album, Raymond vs. Raymond.
“For you I gave my heart and turned my back against the world/ ’Cause you were my girl, girl, girl/ I done damn near lost my mama/ I done been through so much drama/ I done turned into the man that I never thought I’d be/ I’m ready to sign them papers,” the R&B crooner sings on the Sean Garrett-penned cut.
Lyrically, the track paints a crystal clear picture of what he has endured for the past few years and they remain engaging from beginning to end. I really like this track, and although it is in somewhat bad taste (especially given two young children are involved), these are the type of records that Mr. Raymond excels at and after the horrid 'Here I Stand', I'm just happy to have something from him that is actually worthy. Nice job.
