CELEBRITY BUG'S 10 MOST INTRIGUING PEOPLE OF 2009

As the year draws to a close, here is Celebrity Bug's annual countdown of the 10 Most Intriguing People of 2009. Last year, President Barack Obama took top honors and comeback diva Whitney Houston begins this year's countdown at No. 10. Peep the entire list below by clicking 'Read More':

10. Whitney Houston
After a highly-publicized battle with drugs and a disturbing marriage to bad boy singer Bobby Brown, music fans that had been wishing for a comeback finally got their wish when Houston return to the scene with 'I Look to You'. Despite the lackluster performances and the voice that is only a fraction of what it was, we have enjoyed watching a talent that most had completely written off.

9. Sandra Bullock
She reminded us why we fell in love with her in 'The Proposal', which many critics have deemed as the year's best comedy, and delivered the best performance of her career with her embodiment of Leigh Anne Tuohy in the surprise hit 'The Blind Side'. Whether she brought the funny or the tears, Sandra Bullock was undoubtedly the actress we loved to watch this year.

8. The Cast of 'Twilight'
Single handily sending the vampire craze to a new high, 'The Twilight Saga' and the brilliant casting choice of heartthrob Robert Pattinson have made those of us who were never vampire lovers quickly jump the fence. 'New Moon' scored the third biggest opening weekend in box office history with 142.8 million and the follow-up 'Eclipse', which will hit theaters in June, will surely follow suit.

7. Barack & Michele Obama
His tactics have often been questioned and she has been noticed for her fashion choices more so than her efforts, but since the inaugural in January, it has been a joy to watch the first African American President and First Lady reside in office.

6. The Kardashians
What a difference a year makes? From Khloe's quickie marriage to basketball star Lamar Odom, Kourtney's surprise pregnancy and Kim reuniting with football cutie Reggie Bush, the Kardashian sisters have established themselves as the new Queens of reality television. Reality is undoubtedly an overstatement, but who cares when it's so sinfully good.

5. Taylor Swift
As the year's best-selling artist, she led a sold-out headlining tour, started a romance with teen hottie Taylor Lautner and swept the 2009 Country Music Association Awards. Quite an impressive one-year resume for a girl who truth be told is far from a great or even good singer, but with catchy and well-written songs like "You Belong to Me", we're guessing her audience could care less.

4. Adam Lambert
Adam Lambert ended his runner-up stint on 'American Idol' by revealing to Rolling Stone what the world already knew, he's gay.

Many applauded his honesty, but even more shouted back that he had ruin his chances at building a successful recording career, and let's be honest, music hasn't been very accepting of openly gay singers especially men. Lambert has proven that honesty often goes a long way, not only did he best Kris Allen's debut, but also topped the same week entries of Rihanna and Lady GaGa.

3. Lady GaGa
Very few pop stars in recent memory have launched themselves to international superstardom with the release of their debut album, there's Beyonce and Justin Timberlake, who each had the advantage of superstar groups behind their names, and Britney Spears. Lady GaGa joined that elite group with the use of her catchy tunes, wild antics and outrageous wardrobe.

2. Rihanna
Rihanna's year begin on a sour note when she was assaulted by her boyfriend Chris Brown, but fortunately beauty resided in that tragic night. Life lessons that will always be in tact, the ability to educate and more importantly, it laid the foundation for her best work yet with the critically-acclaimed 'Rated R'.

1. Michael Jackson
Since his death on June 25th, which is still not completely registering, Michael Jackson has ruled the airwaves and television screens with all the intriguing highs and lows of his legendary career. The most gratifying reward was his record-breaking movie 'This Is It', which silenced critics and showed fans that a comeback was by no means out of the question. His ability to wow and entrall as a performer was fully in tact and remains undisputable.
