Fifteen year-old Lux (Brittany Robertson) has spent her life going from foster family to foster family and after deciding to become an emancipated minor, she is reunited with her biological parents Nate "Baze" Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha), who owns a bar, and Cate Cassidy (Shiri Appleby), a star on local radio.
