Pop beauty Rihanna performed the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic "Sweet Home Alabama", at a relief concert in Birmingham, Alabama on July 11th.
"Hearing about the hundreds of lives that have been lost and the communities that have been so devastated by this disaster... I wanted to figure out a way to help," said Rihanna prior to the concert entitled 'Tragedy to Triumph'.
"I’m hoping that bringing the LOUD tour through Alabama can provide a moment of relief and raise a lot of money for the charities we are working with."
All of the night's ticket sales and proceeds went to benefit local community relief efforts from the devastating tornadoes that tore through Alabama in early 2011.
