'Play On' Photo Shoot Pictures, Images and Photos

Country superstar Carrie Underwood, who will guest on the second season premiere of 'Blue Bloods', is in the studio working on her fourth studio album.

The project is reportedly going to be released in the fall and yesterday, she updated her fans on the status of the project. See what she had to say below:

I Hate Flying

That title says it all, folks! I'm stuck right now in transit and we're waiting for someone somewhere to take us to our next destination. sad face

But, the good news is, I get to blog!

Today was a really good day...Tony Bennett and I filmed our song for "Blue Bloods." The cast and crew were so so so so nice! And Tony, of course, was a class act, as always! He is such a nice man...we truly had a wonderful day! They even brought out cupcakes for him for his birthday (which is actually in a few days). Eighty-five years and still, he does what he loves and gets so much love in return. He is what the rest of us in the music world should strive to be.

Album update: I've been in the studio the past couple of weeks to track and record. We had some fun tracking days, for sure! The first day I brought the band Iveycake! I think they forgot my name and replaced it with "Cupcake Lady." I always bring them cupcakes! The second day, there was a song that required...let's say...the band to be "loose." I really wanted them to play like they had been drinking a bit. I know that probably doesn't make sense, but once you hear the album, I guarantee that you will know exactly which song I am referring to. They are all so amazing and they are all perfectionists, so I was worried that playing "loose" would be a problem...they're just too good! When I was talking to Mark Bright about this potential problem, he suggested that we actually bring them booze. So, we had margarita day at the studio! I think everyone only had about half a glass each, but it did the trick! Just by making the mood mellow, they totally delivered! I can't wait for you all to hear it. I go back to do some more vocals over the next couple of weeks... My only problem is that I think there are about 20 songs that I do I cut them down and make them make sense as an album? I know we'll figure it out, but I'll sure be sad to see some of them on the chopping block.

Other than that, I don't think I have too much to update you on...I've been in and out...writing and such. I wish I had more to update you on, but, I know soon I'll be griping about how much craziness is happing around me...the grass is always greener, right? :)

You all have a lovely week...I think our plane is on its way! fingers crossed

xoxo, Carrie
