2012 GRAMMY AWARDS: TOP 5 SHINING MOMENTS

2012 Grammys

On Sunday, February 12th, music's biggest night happen when the celebs came together for the 2012 Grammy Awards, which saw singer Adele win an historic 6 trophies and the stars reflects on the devastating death of Whitney Houston.

Take a look at Celebrity Bug's top 5 moments from the 54th annual event below:

01. ADELE'S HISTORIC NIGHT

No words can articulate just how stunningly beautiful Adele's performance of "Rolling in the Deep" was. The accapella intro alone slayed any thing that any other artist did on stage on music's biggest night.

The singer collected an impressive 6 awards including Album, Record and Song of the year to become the youngest artist ever to win the night's top three awards at just 23 years old. She ties Beyonce for most wins by a female in a single year.

Now back to the performance, the singer kept it basic and allowed her voice to simply work its magic and that is exactly what those pipes did. Break-taking!

02. REMEMBERING WHITNEY HOUSTON

Only the angels can hear her sing now, but legendary vocalist Whitney Houston made her presence felt at the show as many artist took time out their speeches and performances to salute the greatest female singer of all-time.

This was capped off by a beautiful and collected rendition of "I Will Always Love You" by Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson, who referred to Houston as her idol.

03. BRUNO MARS WORKS THE STAGE

He may be an acquired taste, but Mars delivered an energetic and retro-styled performance of "Runaway Baby", from his 'Doo-Wops and Hooligans' album.

The performance was simply show-stopping and Mars continues to prove that real and genuine talent still exists in the industry. He continually delivers vocally appeasing outing with that rock-solid tone of his and this was no exception.

04. THE COMEBACK OF CHRIS BROWN

Three years ago before the Grammy Awards, Chris Brown and his then-girlfriend Rihanna were scheduled to hit the stage, but after she was assaulted at the hands of Brown, both of the stars pulled out of their performances.

Many thought the event marked the end of Brown's career, but slowly and surely the crooner danced his way back into our hearts and Sunday, he officially sealed his comeback with a high energy performance and by winning his first Grammy.

05. KATY PERRY SOUNDS OFF ON FAILED RELATIONSHIP

Divorce may have been a good thing for Katy Perry, because on Sunday, the superstar delivered one of her best performance ever (if not her best).

The song seemed to be taking direct aim at her relationship with Russell Brand and she had the look of a woman scorned writing all over her face. Fun and Energetic!
