The 2012 Grammy Awards were held exactly one day after Whitney Houston's death, and the iconic singer made her presence felt by helping the show land an astounding 39 million viewers (its second most-watched telecast ever behind the 1984 show, which is the year Michael Jackson won a record 8 Grammy awards).
The awards show was up a remarkable 46 percent from last year's show. It is still difficult for me to fathom the loss of music's greatest voice, but despite the media choosing to focus on her personal problems, her talent cannot be overshadowed.
