While Lady GaGa had the honor of opening the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, her current chart rival Katy Perry still got the last word as she closed the annual music event with the very first live performance of her new single, "Roar".
Flaunting a box-theme (See: Jennifer Lopez At 2009 AMAs), the performance simply didn't pack enough of a punch and showed that while her single may be performing better, her rival remains the better performer. Watch her timid performance beneath:
