Completing her awards season sweep, Cate Blanchett was named Best Actress at the 2014 Academy Awards for stirring and controversial role in the Woody Allen film, 'Blue Jasmine'.
Held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 2nd, 2014, the respected actress defeated fellow nominees Judi Dench, Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep for the gold trophy.
In her captivating speech, Blanchett paid respected to each of her four fellow nominees, called out studio for thinking that female oriented films can't make money, and thank her cast and director (to timid applause). Watch her delightful speech beneath:
