The Mexico born and Kenya raised beauty was thrilled to learn about the honor, and even happier to recreate the idea of what being beautiful is for the little girls that do not fit into the traditional standards. "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," the 31-year-old says of the honor. "I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."
The '12 Years A Slave' stunner recently made a few big chess moves in her career by becoming the face of LancĂ´me and signing with Creative Artists Agency, where she will share a rep with fellow Oscar winners Marion Cotillard, Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet.
