'American Idol' Crowns Last Winner Ever, But Carrie Underwood Steals The Show



On Thursday (April 7th), 'American Idol' went out in grand fashion with an epic finale that celebrated past winners and memorable contestants, and crowned its final winner when Trent Harmon beat out early favorite La’Porsha Renae for the title.

Former co-host Brian Dunkleman and the original judges - Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson - all returned, but it Carrie Underwood, the most successful alum, that stole the spotlight and simply looked like a superstar in the midst of a bunch of finalists.



The 7x-Grammy winner walked the red carpet in a stunning Yanina Couture gown and hit the stage for a rocking duet of "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" with Keith Urban and a vocally soaring performance of "Something In the Water". Watch all of the performances below:
