Ashanti Reunites With Ja Rule In The Studio

Over a decade after recording their Grammy-nominated hit "Always On Time", Ashanti reunited with her recently-freed collaborator and former label mate Ja Rule in the studio in hopes of finally scoring a hit to release her 'BraveHeart' album.

Aside from their No.1 smash, some of the hit-making duo's other collaborations include "Down 4 U", "Mesmerize" and "Wonderful", and the Murder Inc. stars are undoubtedly looking to add to their joint resume. Relive their biggest hit beneath:

Hip-hop veteran Ja Rule, who is currently behind bars for gun possession, has premiered the new video for "Believe", from his upcoming studio album 'PIL2'.

The newly-unveiled clip shows the star delivering his lines behind a barbed-wire fence and also features some footage of Martin Luther King Jr. Watch below:

Rapper Ja Rule performed his hit single "Wonderful" and his Wanessa-assisted duet "Fly" at the 2009 Oi Fashion Rocks in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After shelving 2006's The Mirror, the rapper has revealed his plans to release a three-disc set in 2010 to make up for the long wait.

“Venni Vetti Vecci: 2010, is a three disc set. It's never been done. I felt it feels great; because, I haven't dropped an album in four or five years. I felt it was perfect for me to do this three disc set. It's innovative and [has] never been done before. Just have some fun with it. You know, Venni Vetti Vecci: 2010. Get ready for it, they gonna really enjoy the album. I'm working on some new movies. I just finished Cook Out 2. There's some other projects that are in the works. I work hard, you know, and I hope that everything goes right.”

Grammy winner Ashanti reunited with her old partner in crime Ja Rule to perform a medley of their hit collaborations at VH1's Hip Hop Honors 2009, which tributes Def Jam's 25th anniversary and will air on October 13th.

The songstress also sported an interesting ensemble on the red carpet, that she somehow managed to pull off, below:

Not the best way to make people feel like they're missing a vital piece of the music industry's puzzle, but somehow it manages to make me miss the days when Murder Inc. reigned supreme.

As for the Ashanti situation, we've relied on our contracts with different insiders and they are saying that Universal Motown are dropping the label Murder Inc. from their affiliates and have made a deal to purchase Ashanti's contract from Irv Gotti. The same deal is supposedly in the works for Lloyd.

Ashanti and Ja Rule performed on ABC’s “Good Morning America” show on Friday at Bryant Park in New York. Ashanti's leg are just to die for.

Kelly Rowland performed live on ‘Sunrise’ and ‘The Morning Show’ before signing copies of her new album Ms. Kelly: Deluxe Edition in Sydney, Australia. I'm glad Kelly is having success somewhere.

Mel B was spotted as she arrived at Heart Radio Station to pre-record an interview in London.

Estelle attended the private view of Royal Academy of the Arts ‘Summer Exhibition’ in London this week. She needs a new stylist ASAP.

Ashanti performed on Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series earlier today in support of her latest effort 'The Declaration. As well as performing her single 'The Way That I Love You' (below), the 27 year old songstress reunited with former collaborator Ja Rule to perform a string of their hits.

Good performance, I especially love that she did a little something different with 'The Way That I Love You', she's definitely beginning to grow into her own as a performer, a area she was previously lacking in. She is also scheduled to hit the stage at this years BET Awards, supposedly twice.
