ABC news is now reporting that singer Beyonce Knowles has gotten the go ahead and has been cast to play singer/actress Eartha Kitt in an upcoming biopic about the singer’s life: “Singer and actress Beyonce Knowles recently received the greenlight to play legendary Eartha Kitt in a biopic of the singer’s life. Her sex-kitten nightclub act with that signature throaty performance helped Kitt rise to fame. She is perhaps best known for her role as Catwoman in the 1960s “Batman” series. During her career, Kitt endured a 10-year blacklisting owing to her sharp criticism of the Vietnam War. Today, the 79-year-old singer is battling colon cancer. She told the New York Post, “I never expect anything to happen to me. “I’m the healthiest person in the world.”[Source]
Rumors have been swirling around for years about who would play the living legend, everyone from Ashanti to Halle Berry have been put in the mix as a front runner. I can't say I'm exactly happy about B getting the part, being that she is a little challenged in the acting department, and I personally know Halle, who Eartha expressed is who she wanted for the part, would be able to deliver the role with ease more so than the bootylicious singer. Congrats all the same.
Sidenote: Is Beyonce trying to play EVERY SINGLE LIVING LEGEND?
Somebody needs to inform Beyonce that she simply CAN"T ACT.
