Golden Globe winner Idris Elba and Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey have signed on star in the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel 'The Dark Tower'. The author confirmed the news and a January 13, 2017 release date has been set for the film.

In the forthcoming film, Elba is slated to take on the role of gunslinger Roland Deschain, while McConaughey will play the man in black and the two actors took to twitter to taunt each other.

Sony Pictures and MRC are set to co-finance the feature film, and Nikolaj Arcel will direct from a script written by Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner. This project certainly has my attention!!!
