New Music: Chris Brown Featuring Bow Wow & Pleasure P - 'Can't Let You Go'

9/01/2009 0
Young stars Chris Brown, Bow Wow and Pleasure P team up on "Can't Let Her Go", a new track that supposedly hails from Mr. Brown's recording sessions of Graffiti.

This can best be summed up as "just average" or "nothing special", from the annoying trances in and out of auto-tune to the song's overall content, it fails to become anything more than lackluster.

As always, the download link is located in the comments.

Photobucket

The announcement comes just months after Bow Wow said he was hanging up the mic after his seventh album New Jack City II to pursue acting and business ventures. “This my last album because for me, there’s no more that needs to be done on the music side,” he said at the time. “There’s nothing more that I want to accomplish that I haven’t seen yet.”

Bow Wow Announces Retirement

4/15/2009 0
After the disappointing sales of his current album, New Jack City Pt.2, which debut at No.16 selling 31,000 copies, Bow Wow has officially announced that this album will serve as his last.

“This my last album because for me, there’s no more that needs to be done on the music side,” said the 22-year-old rapper, who’s released seven albums throughout his career. “There’s nothing more that I want to accomplish that I haven’t seen yet.”

Check out his promise to hang up the mic below:

I don't know why, but I found this whole clip hilarious, watching him make excuse after excuse as to why he's chosen to focus on other areas, instead of just telling the truth or simply saying nothing at all. To put it plainly, Hip-Hop truly stopped caring about Bow Wow a long time ago and this whole ordeal just sounds like he's trying to say he's retiring, before he get dropped by his record label.

That said, best of luck to him and be on the lookout for an album review coming soon.

Bow Wow & Ne-Yo Express Their Thoughts On Chris Brown & Rihanna

2/24/2009 0
Bow Wow and Ne-Yo, who are very close to Chris Brown and/or Rihanna, have openly expressed their thoughts on teh alledged altercation that happened between the two.

Bow Wow: “I mean, being in the business, the first thing is ‘ah, it’s false, another rumor, bloggers just wanting to have traffic to their site. But when the story was unfolding, it was kind of shocking to all. Chris is a good friend of mine. We’ve had the opportunity to tour together. And then Rihanna, she’s just a beautiful person. Period. Never done no wrong to nobody. I’ve been in a high profile relationship before and I know how it feels when everybody’s in your business. It just puts more pressure. And the only way they’re going to get over the situation is just to let them deal with it. And that’s what I really want to do. I’m praying for them both.”

After Seeing the Photo:
“Just shocking. I mean we heard what happened but we really didn’t get a visual for it. But I mean hey, man. The picture speaks for itself.”

Ne-Yo: “I wanted to talk to them before I made a comment. I spoke to Rihanna. She says she’s fine. She didn’t go into detail about what happened. I understand it’s a painful situation; I didn’t push. I saw the picture. That just really — that hurt me to my heart, man. Again, I still don’t know what happened, ’cause I haven’t had the opportunity to talk to Chris yet. But to take it to that level really hurt my heart. All I can say is, I’m praying for both of them. They’re both in my prayers. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Chris yet. I just wanna sit down and talk to that dude and just explain if he doesn’t understand: ‘That’s not something that’s excusable, bruh. You have to get a little smarter about whatever it is going on in your relationship. You have to get a little smarter about how you handle certain situations.’”

Bow Wow Featuring Johnta Austin - 'You Can Get It All' Video

2/24/2009 1
The video for Bow Wow's latest single 'You Can Get It All' featuring Johnta Austin, premiered in full yesterday. Check out the Hype Williams directed video below:

The song actually isn't that bad, but it fails to break the trend from becoming your traditional Bow Wow track. As for the video, its pretty much run of the mill also, but it does accurately suit the song.

Bow Wow's sixth album, New Jack City II, is slated to arrive in stores on March 31st.

Bow Wow Talks Early Retirement, 'I Want to Be Will Smith'

8/01/2008 0
At the ripe age of 21, rapper Bow Wow is already seriously considering retirement. "After the eighth album, I'm done," the rapper told MTV News.

In the interview, Bow Wow says acting is his passion and he wants to direct all his focus to the screen. His seventh album, The Pedigree, is due out later this year. "[I have] probably one more in me and that's eight. Like, I'm one [album] behind Nas, and that's crazy."

What kind of a path does Bow Wow see for himself? "I wanna be the next Will Smith," he says. Bow Wow is continuing his acting career with a much talked about role on the upcoming season of Entourage. He even has a sex scene.

"I know the girls, they're going to go crazy when they see it," Bow Wow says. "I know when I look back at it, when I see it, I'm gonna be like, 'Damn! Look at this. This is crazy!' I stun myself sometimes."

I can't see anyone losing sleep over this, but it probably won't end up happening anyway, the whole retiring thing get on my nerves, because none of the artists ever stick to it.

Bow Wow Addresses 'The Haters'

6/11/2008 0
On a recent Youtube webisode, rapper Bow Wow takes aim at what he calls 'The Hater': Check out the video below:

I agree to a certain extent, I wouldn't call myself a hater, I definitely express my opinion which I'm entitled to, and trust me there is definitely a difference.

However, if Bow Wow didn't always come off as a cocky jackass, considering his music doesn't really live up to his attitude IMO, then I think some of the so called 'hating' would possibly disappear.

Bow Wow Puts Music Aside To Focus On Acting

5/24/2008 0
According to Billboard, Bow Wow is turning his focus away from music to acting, and has a string of acting gigs in the pipeline. Check out the report:

Actor-rapper Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow, is focusing on acting full time. Moss has joined the upcoming fifth season of HBO's "Entourage" in a recurring role, playing Charlie, a new stand-up comic client of E (Kevin Connolly).

Additionally, he has landed a role opposite Forest Whitaker, rapper Lil Wayne and Isaiah Washington in the Weinstein Co.'s sports drama "Patriots," about a high school basketball team in post-Katrina Louisiana."

After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I've decided to shift my energy to something else I'm passionate about, acting," Moss said. "I'm going to try to be the next Will Smith."

Like Moss, Smith started off as a rapper before segueing into acting.

Big ups to Bow Wow, but he is being extremely cocky for someone who's last outings failed to reach the excess of one million copies, plus the extreme failure of last year's 'Face Off' a joint effort with Omarion, who was recently dropped by the label. Maybe this is Bow Wow's way of preventing the same thing from happening to him. Hmmmm.
