Past Attack is a segment that will be unleashed every Sunday, highlighting the best and worst performances or videos by some of your favorite artists, past or present. Being that today is the Fourth of July, its only fitting to start by unleashing performances of 'The Star Spangled Banner'.
Mariah Carey
Her version was supposedly prerecorded, which honestly wouldn't surprise me, but it was still a nice version.
Christina Aguilera
I love how she changed it up, a lot find it disrespectable, but I find it intriguing. Christina is hands down the BEST FEMALE VOCALIST out now, Alicia, Beyonce, Mariah, and even Whitney all take a back seat to her IMO.
Beyonce
Aside from Whitney, this is single handily one of my favorite versions of the song, Beyonce, who manages not to over do it, like she often does, and also manages to stay in tune, which is often a hard task for her, because she tends to want to use more of her voice than is actually there, but here she knocks it out of the ball park.
Whitney Houston
Originally sung in 1991, Whitney's version literally shits on every other version of the song, past or present. Nobody has sung it better than her since and nobody probably ever will.
