Ashanti, who took part in a one-night-only benefit performance celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the Broadway smash 'Wicked', got some support from her beau Nelly at the Gershwin Theatre on October 27, 2008 in New York City.
In other Ashanti news, sources are reporting that the singer will release 'Struggle' as the third single from her latest album 'The Declaration'. As far as her Grammy entries are concerned, the singer has submitted 'The Way That I Love' for consideration in the categories of Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Her other entries include: 'Things You Make Me Do' featuring Robin Thicke for Best R&B Vocal Performance by Duo or Group and 'The Declaration' for Best Contemporary R&B Album.
Nelly chose to submit 'Brass Knuckles' for Best Rap Album, 'One & Only' for Best Rap Solo Performance, and 'Self Esteem' featuring Chuck D for Best Rap Performance by Group or Duo.
The cute couple also jointly submitted 'Body on Me', their collaboration with Akon for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration & Best Rap Song.
'Just Stand Up', the all female ensemble she took part in is also being considered for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
