Album Review: Jamie Foxx - 'Intuition'

On 'Intuition', the follow-up to his double platinum, Grammy nominated, J Records debut, 'Unpredictable', Jamie Foxx composes a writing and production team, including The Dream, Timbaland, Sean Garrett, Tricky, Salaam Remi and Marsha Ambrosia, in hopes of matching the success it's predecessor.

The lead single, 'Just Like You', which features T.I., starts the set out on a positive note, as the song matches the signature catchy, infectious status that comes with the traditional The Dream penned tunes. The same goes for the repetitive, 'Digital Girl', which with the assistance of Kanye West, also manages to walk the grounds of solid.

The T-Pain assisted, 'Blame It', the sexy, 'Freak'in Me', and 'Weekend Lover', are among the other standouts.

The bad starts in the form of, 'I Don't Need It', and continues to be a trend throughout the set with the likes of, 'Number One', 'I Don't Know', 'Why', and 'Rainman', among others.

Overall, the album is a overly repetitive youthful indulging set, which boasts the lack of irony given Jamie just celebrated his 41st birthday, and at times that fact leaves you feeling cheating.

In fact, I'll even go further by saying if this set was drafted by someone in the twenties, I probably would have enjoyed it more, that aside, I'm sure the new digital generation will eat it up.

Still, 'Intuition', which is defined as the quality or ability of having such direct perception or quick insight, is in this case the exact opposite, as the set is nothing more than the journey of a man that refuses to grow up and act his age, which makes it hard to believe much that parts Mr. Foxx's lips.
