Blake Lively Covers 'Vogue'

Blake Lively may play a teen queen on "Gossip Girl," but she's not always been part of the in-crowd. In the February issue of Vogue, Alessandra Stanley talks to Blake about fitting in, fashion, and filming during a recession.

On her real-life private school experience:
"It was the only school where people were just downright mean to me," she recalls. "They would make fun of my clothes because I dressed differently than the other kids."

On the fashion of "Gossip Girl":
"The fashion is just unbelievable. You can watch our show on mute and be entertained."

On the show's stylists:
"The more they work with me and see my style, and the more I learn about fashion, the more input I have ... it's more collaborative now than it was in the beginning because then I had no idea what I was doing."

On filming during a recession:
"We live in an alternate universe on the show; it's a heightened reality, so I don't think the writers would work that in ... it's just an escape, watching these sparkly lives and just escaping into this other world for an hour."
