AllHipHop.com has received an exclusive report that Atlanta-based producer Jermaine Dupri’s tenure as President of Island Records Urban Music has come to an end. A formal announcement of his departure from the position, which he has held for nearly two years, may come as early as this week. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source close to the situation confirmed to AllHipHop.com that Dupri has in fact been terminated effective immediately.

Some reports are suggesting he stepped down, while others are saying he got axed, so until an official announcement or more concrete evidence surfaces, that question will remain unanswered.
That said, he seems to follow in Janet's foot steps a lot, so his reason is probably surrounding her recent exit, after 'Discipline' flopped, which Janet blames on Def Jam's promo. After all this is the same man, that left Virgin Records, after Janet was released from her contract, and resigned from the Grammy committee, after they refuse to let her attend, due to her refusing to apologize a second time for the Superbowl mishap.
