Pregnant Kelis Files For Divorce From Nas

Kelis isn't whipping up anymore milkshakes for Nas.

The pregnant R&B songstress is looking to divorce her hip-hop star hubby of more than four years, E! News confirmed Thursday.

"I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," said a rep for Kelis, whose full name is Kelis Rogers-Jones. "We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."

She and Nas (full name Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones) tied the knot Jan. 8, 2005, in Atlanta after a two-year engagement. The pair are expecting their first child together—a son—this summer. Nas has a teenage daughter from a previous relationship.

Gosh, this was definitely a shocker that I didn't see coming. Out of all the celebrity relationships, they were one of the few unions, that seemed genuine and real, but according to reports Kelis was fed up with Nas' verbally abusive and cheating ways.

That said, I'm definitely looking forward to getting a more concrete explanation of the union's demise, but hopefully since a child is involved they will both choose to keep the situation from evolving into the messy separations that most Hollywood couples face.
