Grammy-winning diva Whitney Houston finally returns to the limelight with the single "I Didn't Know My Own Strength", from her new album, I Look To You. The empowering ballad was written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster.

Does Whitney match the hype or deliver another dud?
The answer to that question depends on how you examine the situation, because while one is thanking their lucky stars that Whitney didn't fall into the territory of gimmicks and chose to release a classic Whitney ballad. The focus can not be shifted from the single's lack of captivation or the singer's tone down vocals, which tend to ditch her normal powerhouse status for a grittier delivery. Still, the emotion and the sense that it feels real on her part, are all characteristics that work in her favor. She sounds great and this track proves that despite her setbacks, it isn't safe to count her out.
