Legendary singer Whitney Houston is in negotiations to play Jordin Sparks' not-so encouraging mother in the remake of the 1976 music-themed 'Sparkle'.
The 'American Idol' winner is set to play the title character and if all goes well, the film will mark her first foray into film since 'The Preacher's Wife' in 1996.
Aside from this movie, Houston is also expected to reprise her role as Savannah Jackson in 'Getting to Happy', the sequel to the Terry McMillian book turned film 'Waiting to Exhale', which she has said could surface as early as next year.
