American Idol contestant Allison Iraheta tries to get over an ex on the Max Martin-produced "Friday I'll Be Over U", the first single from her debut album, which will be released on December 1st via Jive Records

Equipped with infectious sets of wording ('oh yeah' and 'oh oh oh'), I'm liking that the track is buttered with a younger vibe, which I heavily criticized her for not possessing during her run on the show. That said, I'm a little worried that to her true supporters this will seem like nothing more than a ditch of originality, a watered down version of her voice and simply skewed too close to the generic pile, all for the sake of trying to latch a hit record, which wouldn't be an delusional assessment.
