From one country beauty to another. Carrie Underwood has been tapped to replace Faith Hill as the new 'Sunday Night Football' opener, which will see the singer performing the opening theme "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night".

"I am thrilled to be a part of NBC's Sunday Night Football and am so honored they asked me," six-time Grammy winner said in the press release. "I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!"

'Sunday Night Football' producer Fred Gaudelli confirmed that Underwood was their first - "and only" - choice to replace Hill. "She's one of America's most popular entertainers and the perfect fit for our show," he noted. Gaudelli revealed in a conference call today that Underwood was also included the original line-up of considerations in 2006 when the show debuted.

Hill herself approved of her new replacement: "Congrats to Carrie!! An awesome choice by the guys at NBC/SNF. She'll rock it," she tweeted on Wednesday.

Underwood will make her 'Sunday Night Football' debut September 8th, which will be its first broadcast of the NFL season featuring the Dallas Cowboys vs. the New York Giants. As Hill did before, Underwood will then usher in 'Sunday Night Football' every week throughout the season. Watch her sing the National Anthem at a 2006 game beneath:

Country veteran Faith Hill sings about the strength of an "American Heart", in the official video for her new single, which takes on a new meaning in the wake and devastation of eastern storms courtesy of Hurricane Sandy.

The single is taken from her forthcoming studio album 'Illusion', which is due in stores next year, and the video, featuring 10-year-old TJ Jones as her dancing sidekick, was directed by Trey Fanjoy in Nashville, Tennessee. Watch the music clip beneath:

After her comeback single, "Come Home", bombed on the charts, Faith Hill returns with "American Heart", the new single lifted from her forthcoming album 'Illusion'.

"It beats like a drum down in New Orleans / Sings like a Motown melody / It dreams like California / Bigger than a Texas sky / It bleeds, it scorns, but it shines when times get hard / You can’t break an American heart,” the country beauty sings. Listen beneath:

Co-written by Jonathan Singleton and Jim Beavers, it is more radio friendly than her previous single release, and Mrs. Tim McGraw deserves a lot of credit for breathing more life into the cliche and often predictable lyrics through her vocal performance.

Country's most powerful couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill stopped by 'Good Morning America' in New York City on Tuesday (Feb. 7th), to chat with Robin Roberts about their new fragrance and forthcoming tour together, 'Soul2Soul'.

McGraw is currently riding high on the charts with his album 'Emotional Traffic', which hit No.1 after a year-long delay, and Hill is gearing up to release her new single "You’re the One Whose Waiting", co-written by singer John Legend.

These two are too cute for words. Watch their full interview with the show below:

Country songbird Faith Hill performed her first single "Come Home", on the 2012 People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 11th.

Despite delivering a solid performance, the problem with Faith is that the song simply isn't living up to its billing as a "comeback single" and after such a long absence, it makes it easier to dismiss. She looks lovely though. Watch it below:

Country vocalist Faith Hill returns to the spotlight with "Come Home", the first song from her forthcoming eighth album, which is set to hit stores in early 2012.

Originally featured on One Republic's 2007 album 'Dreaming Out Loud', it is disappointing that after such a long absence, Hill didn't supply her fans with an original tune, but she rights that wrong by putting her own stamp on the record.

After a five year absence, Faith Hill will lend her stunning voice to the Country Music Association Awards, where she will perform her single "Come Home".

The single, which was written by Ryan Tedder, will hit radio stations and digital outlets on the same day, and serves as the first release from her eighth studio album, which is due in early 2012. "It's such a great song," Hill said of the song.

Country singer Faith Hill will premiere her first single at the 2011 CMA Awards on November 9th, which will mark her first performance on the show since 2006.

The forthcoming single is lifted from her new studio album (due early next year).
