Jennifer Aniston Beautifies 'Marie Claire'

11/14/2016 0

With her new movie 'Office Christmas Party' in theaters on December 9th, Jennifer Aniston graces the December issue of Marie Claire and in the issue, the 47-year-old actress sounds off on her husband Justin Theroux, being shamed for her body and divorce from Brad Pitt, how she picks her acting roles and what is next for her. Read excerpts from the interview beneath:

On Justin Theroux: "Why is he the right person for me? All I know is that I feel completely seen, and adored, in no matter what state. There's no part of me that I don't feel comfortable showing, exposing. And it brings forth the best part of myself, because I care about him so much. And he's such a good person. It hurts me to think of anything hurting him."

On Her Huffington Post Op-Ed: "My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed. It's like, Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it? I just thought: I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human."

On Picking Acting Roles: "You have to be so madly in love with it and think, I will be so upset if I don't go and play this person...Especially these days, with Justin in Melbourne. It has to be worth it."

On What's Next: "This is a time when I'm not completely sure what I'm doing. I'm at this sort of crossroads trying to figure out what inspires me deep in my core. What used to make me tick is not necessarily making me tick any- more ... The most challenging thing right now is trying to find what it is that makes my heart sing."

Nicki Minaj Sexes Up 'Marie Claire'

10/19/2016 0

Hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj brings her sex appeal to the November issue of Marie Claire, where she dishes on the goals of a young woman, competing with men, double standards placed on women of color, violence and Beyoncé. Read excerpts of her interview below:

On The Goals Of A Young Woman: "Nowadays, I feel like [young women] see marrying into money—I think that's a big thing now. I don't want that to be a woman's goal in life. I want your goal in life to be to become an entrepreneur, a rich woman, a career-driven woman. You have to be able to know that you need no man on this planet at all, period, and he should feel that, because when a man feels that you need him, he acts differently."

On Competing With Male Rappers: "I don't need to read a book about [business]. I can look at someone's career and just pinpoint the dos and the don'ts, and the one person I've done that with for my entire career was Jay Z. He did such a great job being an authentic street guy and a businessman, and I was like, Why aren't there women doing that, taking the success from rap and channeling it into their empire? I felt like anything he could do, I could do."

On Double Standards Placed On Women Of Color: "When Kim Kardashian's naked picture came out, [Sharon Osbourne] praised it, and my fans attacked her for being such a hypocrite. So it wasn't trashy and raunchy when a white woman did it, but it was when a black woman did it? It's quite pathetic and sad, but that is my reality, and I've gotten accustomed to just shutting it down."

On Violence: "We tend to not remember the black women who are mourning these men and who are thinking, Oh, my God, what am I going to tell my child now about where his father is, and the struggle it is for black women to then move on after they lose their husband or their boyfriend ... The strong women in these inner cities often go unnoticed ... no one really ever puts a hand out to them."

On Beyoncé: "Every time Bey and I do something together, I see how women are inspired, and it has nothing to do with how we look. It has to do with how we are owning who we are and telling other women you should be the boss of your own career and the brains behind your life or your decisions or your art. I just love that feeling."

Britney Spears Covers 'Marie Claire' UK

8/31/2016 0

It's Britney Bitch!!! After releasing her 'Glory' album last week and making an enjoyable return to the VMAs, superstar Britney Spears plays cover girl for the October issue of Marie Claire UK, where she dishes on dating and dealing with anxiety. Peep excerpts and more photos beneath:

On Bad Dates: "I had a really bad date. I’ve been single for ages and had a date with a guy I liked. I was getting anxious, worrying he wouldn’t like me. We went to the movies, but I could tell right away it wasn’t working. It was sort of awkward. After the movie I came home and that was it. It just didn’t work. He just wasn’t that into me. I liked him. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. It happens to everybody. Being famous doesn’t make you any different."

On Anxiety: "If a hair was out of place, I’d be so anxious. I would get very anxious about so many things. Becoming a mother and being with my boys [Jayden, 9 & Sean, 10] has made me so much more accepting of myself. I'm their mom, whatever. That has been a really big thing for me over these last few years."

"It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong. I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong. But then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what." Kerry Washington Pretties Up April Issue Of 'Marie Claire'

3/18/2015 0

As 'Scandal' continues to engage viewers on a weekly basis (See: the fantastic episode entitled 'The Lawn Chair'), leading lady Kerry Washington strikes a pretty pose as she fronts the April 2015 issue of Marie Claire, which will hit newsstands on March 24th.

In the issue, the 38-year-old actress, who recently signed on to play Anita Hill in a HBO movie, dishes on why she is so private about her personality, her respect for Shonda Rhimes' vision and of course, fashion. Read some excerpts from her interview with the publication beneath:

On Privacy: "Earlier in my career, I was much more super-sharey. There were moments when I wanted to process things that were happening to me more privately, and I didn’t have the space to do it, because once you let people in, they’re in and you don’t get to say, ‘Oh, I want this for myself.'"

On Fashion: "I just put myself in a boot camp of figuring it out—and realized that I really loved it. I guess because I came to it later in life, I realized, ‘Oh, going to a fashion show is like going to the opening of Degas at the Met or going to see Swan Lake.'"

On Shonda Rhimes: "I’m very respectful of Shonda’s vision of who Olivia [Pope] is, but she has said that she is informed by the choices I make. If we were waltzing, she’s definitely leading. And she picked the song, and she probably dressed us, but it is a waltz."

On Her Loner Personality: "I’m not a mushy person at all. We were never a huggy family. Or a ‘let’s talk it out’ family. Technically I have siblings but they are quite a bit older than me – I was the accident – so I have the only-child syndrome going on. I’m a little more selfish, a little more independent, a little closed. I do wish I were softer. I wish I were able to form relationships better. But hey, I mean…I'm not a sociopath."

On Working Through Anxiety Attacks: "At the beginning of my career, I used to have panic attacks. People were touching me, screaming – it made me really nervous. In public, I just get nervous. It’s a physical reaction, feeling like the walls are closing in. The fans are great. It’s not their fault. I don’t ever want to come across as ungrateful. But on my end, it is hard for me to process. Because I am still just me."

On Her Awkward Moments: "My husband calls me the queen of awkward moments. Anything that can be made awkward, I will make it awkward."

What Her High School Yearbook: "You were supposed to say what you would be doing in 10 years, and I said, ‘I will be rich, famous, and married to a hot guy.’ I guess I should have added a few more things."

On Becoming A Mother: "I don’t feel old enough to have kids. I know I am mature. But being responsible for another human?"
