'Live By Night' Trailer: Ben Affleck Stars In Prohibition-Era Organized Crime Drama

Ben Affleck writes, directs and stars in 'Live By Night', an adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel of the same name, and the first trailer for the film has arrived.

In the movie, Affleck plays Joe Coughlin, the son of the Boston Police Superintendent (Brendan Gleeson) who’s a soldier-turned-gangster in the middle of Prohibition.

Watch the trailer for the forthcoming feature film, which also stars Elle Fanning, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Chris Cooper, and opens wide on January 13th, beneath:

One day after releasing the much-criticized official poster for the upcoming biopic, the first full-length trailer for the controversial 'Nina' biopic, starring Zoë Saldana, has emerged and gives audiences a glimpse into the soul legend's troubled life.

Due in hits theaters on April 22nd, the trailer, which is distracting to say the least, shows Simone befriending Clifton Henderson (David Oyelowo), who becomes her manager and tries to dissuade the singer from drinking and smoking as she lashes out. Watch it beneath:

Zoë Saldana Criticized For 'Nina' Poster

With her having to wear make-up to darken her complexion and even a fake nose, actress Zoe Saldana was the recipent of a lot of criticism after she was cast as Nina Simone in the long-delayed biopic 'Nina', which released in theaters and on VOD April 22nd.

The criticism seemed to have resurfaced today (March 1st) after the first official poster for the film, which also stars David Oyelowo, was released with some fans saying it was the equivalent to "blackface" and others saying it was just as much of an insult to darker skinned actresses as a white man being cast to play Michael Jackson. Megan Fox and Zoe Saldana have been searching for a new project to star in together and the smoking-hot actresses seem to have found it with 'Swindle', a action heist spec, which has been purchased by Paramount Pictures for the duo.

Michael De Luca, one of the producers backing 'Moneyball', has signed on to develop the project and both of the actresses are set to produce the feature film.

WEEKEND BOX-OFFICE: 'THE HELP' STILL CLEANING UP, 'COLOMBIANA' STUMBLES INTO SECOND PLACE

For the second consecutive weekend, 'The Help' remained in the top spot of the box-office by cleaning up $14.5 million and a total of $96.8 million in its first 19 days of nationwide release.

'Colombiana', starring Zoe Saldana, was the strongest of the new releases, but the revenge thriller still stumbled to the finish line with a weak $10.4 million.

On a positive note, it was an slight improvement over Saldana's last action ensemble 'Losers' ($9.4 in April 2010).

Rounding out the top five were 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' ($8.8 million), 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' ($8.5 mill) and 'Our Idiot Brother' ($7 mill).

On Learning Dance as a Child:

On Color Issues of Hollywood:
“When they say ‘We want to go white,’ they have a very smooth way of saying it, and the recent one is the word traditional.
