Beyoncé Covers Most Influential Issue Of 'TIME'

4/29/2014 0
Bow down, bitches! Beyoncé flaunts her superstar power by fronting the 100 Most Influential People issue.

The annual list, which is published by TIME magazine and currently available on newsstands, also features Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Matthew McConaughey and Pharrell.

Sheryl Sandberg, the chief operating officer of Facebook and author of the empowerment book 'Lean In', penned a tribute to the star, saluting her for "[raising] her voice both on- and offstage to urge women to be independent and lead." Sandberg writes, "In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, 'What would you do if you weren't afraid?' appears to be 'Watch me. I'm about to do it.' Then she adds, 'You can, too.'" Lupita Nyong'o Named People's Most Beautiful Woman Of 2014, Switches To CAA

4/28/2014 0
Academy Award-winning actress and red carpet darling Lupita Nyong'o has been named the World's Most Beautiful Woman by PEOPLE magazine.

The Mexico born and Kenya raised beauty was thrilled to learn about the honor, and even happier to recreate the idea of what being beautiful is for the little girls that do not fit into the traditional standards. "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," the 31-year-old says of the honor. "I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."

The '12 Years A Slave' stunner recently made a few big chess moves in her career by becoming the face of Lancôme and signing with Creative Artists Agency, where she will share a rep with fellow Oscar winners Marion Cotillard, Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet. Not bad company to be in. Peep her stunning cover shot beneath:

The singer performed "Runaway" and "Scars", two of my favorites from the set, and also talked about her forthcoming acting roles including the television movie 'Fallout Asylum', which she recently wrapped, and a new role opposite Michelle Pfeiffer.

Additionally, earlier this month, she made appearances on 'Good Day NY' and 'The Queen Latifah Show' to perform her single, "I Got It". Watch all of her performances and sound off beneath:

Video: Justin Timberlake - 'Not A Bad Thing'

4/20/2014 0
If you were expecting to see Justin Timberlake's handsome face in the video for "Not A Bad Thing", then you are out of luck. The superstar opts for a mini-documentary instead of a traditional music video.

Directed by Dennis Liu, the video for the second, which is my second favorite of his 'The 20/20 Experience (Part 2 of 2)' album behind "Drink You Away", details the search for a couple who got engaged on a Long Island Rail Road train. In an effort to find this couple and learn their story, the video turns into an inspiring mini-documentary on love as the search for the couple continues. See how the intense search pans out after the cut:

Halle Berry Resurrects 'Frankie & Alice' Film

4/06/2014 0
'Frankie & Alice' first made headlines in 2010 when it received a qualifying run during awards season and scored Halle Berry a Globe Globe nomination and a win at the NAACP Image Awards, but then, it disappeared.

This past weekend, the film was finally released by Lionsgate/Codeblack in 171 theaters and it emerged as the highest specialty film of the weekend by pulling with a $350,000 gross and a respectful $2,047 per theater average.

The film, which deals with dissociative identity disorder, was always a tough sell and the final product comes off like a made-for-television move, but Berry once again delivers a powerful performance that was deserving of more accolades. Hopefully, the end reward will be her finally getting projects that are equal to her undeniable talent as an actress. Watch eight clips from the Geoffrey Sax film beneath:
