Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez Sizzle On Glamorous 'Vanity Fair' Cover

11/03/2017 0

J-Rod bring the heat on Vanity Fair!!!

In their first photo shoot as a couple, Jennifer Lopez and her beau Alex Rodriguez bring their power couple status and glamorous life to the magazine's December issue, where they dish on their awkward first date, why they feel like they are kindred spirits and why they work better as a couple now than if they had pursued each other before.

On Their First Date
Lopez: "He was sitting there in his white shirt, very confident and manly, but then he was just so talkative! I think he thought I was going to be this loud person, but I'm not. I just listen. So he’s talking, talking about his plans, about how he had just retired from baseball, about how he saw himself getting married again, all these things you wouldn’t normally talk about on a first date. I don't know if he thought it was a date. I thought it was a date."

Rodriguez: "She told me around the third or fourth inning that she was single. I had to get up and go re-adjust my thoughts. I went to the bathroom and got enough courage to send her a text … 'You look sexy AF' "

On Being Kindred Spirits
Rodriguez: "We are very much twins. We're both Leos; we're both from New York; we're both Latino and about 20 other things."

Lopez: "I understand him in a way that I don’t think anyone else could, and he understands me in a way that no one else could ever. In his 20s, he came into big success with the biggest baseball contract [at the time]. I had a No. 1 movie and a No. 1 album and made history. We both had ups and downs and challenges in our 30s, and by our 40s we'd both been through so much. And more importantly than anything, we had both done a lot of work on ourselves."

On Why They Wouldn't Have Worked Years Ago
Lopez: "We had to grow and discover ourselves first. A lot of people I've met in my life, they don’t appreciate what they’re doing and how amazing it is … not the greatness of the house, but the moment of sitting there with someone you love, with a family, with healthy kids."

Rihanna Scorches On 'Vanity Fair'

Pop superstar Rihanna scorches in Cuban sun for the November cover of Vanity Fair, where she sounds off on not being a fan of casual sex and dealing with the aftermath of the infamous Chris Brown assault in 2009, which also resulted in a makeup and then final breakup.

"I was that girl," she tells the publication, "that girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is, maybe some people are built stronger than others. Maybe I'm one of those people built to handle s--t like this. Maybe I'm the person who's almost the guardian angel to this person, to be there when they're not strong enough, when they're not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing."

She also admits that part of the reason behind the reconilation was that she thought she could change him. "A hundred percent. I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn't understand him. Even after... But you know, you realize after a while that in that situation you're the enemy. You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I'm willing to put up with something, they think less of you—because they know you don't deserve what they're going to give."

She continues, "And if you put up with it, maybe you are agreeing that you [deserve] this, and that's when I finally had to say, ‘Uh-oh, I was stupid thinking I was built for this.' Sometimes you just have to walk away." As for now, she says, "I don't hate him. I will care about him until the day I die. We're not friends, but it's not like we're enemies. We don't have much of a relationship now."

Jay Z Suits Up & Gets Candid With 'Vanity Fair'

10/01/2013 0
Jay Z : Vanity Fair (November 2013) photo Jay-Z-for-Vanity-Fair.jpg

Making history as the first rapper to score a solo cover, Jay Z graces the November 2013 issue of Vanity Fair in a suit and tie for what is being called the "most revealing" interview of his career. Not too hard, when you're soooo secretive...

In the publication, the hip-hop mogul shows off his smarts as he dishes on selling drugs, his wife Beyonce, their daughter Blue Ivy and why she is his biggest fan, and the dealing with the rumors that they used a surrogate. Read excerpts beneath:

On Selling Drugs:
"I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up. Or if you want to start some sort of barbershop or car wash- those were the businesses back then. Things you can get in easily to get of [that] life. At some point, you have to have an exit strategy, because your window is very small; you're going to get locked up or you're going to die."

On Still Rapping in His Forties:
"I know I said I wouldn’t be doing it when I was 30, so that’s how I know I love it. Thirty years old was my cutoff, but I’m still here, 43 years old."

On Blue Ivy Being His Biggest Fan:
"She does like her mother's music - she watches [Beyonce's concerts] on the computer every night. But my album came out and I don't know if Blue ever heard any of my music prior to this album - she's only 18 months old and I don't play my music around the house. But this album was new, so we played it. And she loves all the songs. She plays a song and goes, 'More, Daddy, more... Daddy song.' She's my biggest fan. If no one bought the Magna Carta [album], the fact that she loves it so much, it gives me the greatest joy. And that's not like a cliche. I'm really serious. Just to see her - 'Daddy song, more, Daddy.' She's genuine, she's honest, because she's doesn't know it makes me happy. She just wants to hear it."

On Rumors He & Beyonce Used A Surrogate:
"I don't even know how to answer that. It's just so stupid. You know, I felt dismissive about it, but you’ve got to feel for her. I mean, we've got a really charmed life, so how can we complain? But when you think about it, we’re still human beings. Even in hip-hop, all the blogs—they had a field day with it. I'm like, We come from you guys, we represent you guys. Why are you perpetuating this? Why are you adding fuel to this ridiculous rumor?"

Brad Pitt's Big Gamble Revealed In 'Vanity Fair'

5/12/2013 0
Brad Pitt : Vanity Fair (June 2013) photo brad-pitt-cover.jpg

With tons of script changes, re-shoots and a budget that reportedly exceeds $200 million, Brad Pitt has a lot riding on his forthcoming zombie-horror film, 'World War Z', and in the latest issue of Vanity Fair, the film's uphill battle is described.

"He took me through how excited he was when he read the book, what was exciting for him, the geopolitical aspect of it. But when we started working on the script, a lot of that stuff had to fall away for the story to come together. We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to", screenwriter Damon Lindelof reveals in the June 2013 issue of the publication.

"The thing we really need right now is someone who is not burdened by all the history that this thing is inheriting, who can see what we’ve got and tell us how to get to where we need to get." Peep the trailer for the new film, due in theaters on June 21st, beneath:

Taylor Swift Covers 'Vanity Fair' Magazine

3/13/2013 0
Taylor Swift : Vanity Fair (April 2013) photo taylor-swift-vanity-fair2-celebritybug.jpg

It is no secret that Taylor Swift has had her share of break-ups and relationships that went sour, but in the April 2013 issue of Vanity Fair, the pop starlet tries to play us for a fool and insists she has only dated two guys since 2010.

"If you want some big revelation, since 2010 I have dated exactly two people,” Swift says, referencing Conor Kennedy, whom she broke things off with in October after a brief romance, and One Direction's Harry Styles, whom she split from in early January.

"The fact that there are slide shows of a dozen guys that I either hugged on a red carpet or met for lunch or wrote a song with, it’s just kind of ridiculous. It’s why I have to avoid the tabloid part of our culture, because they turn you into a fictional character".

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated - a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," the star tells the magazine, which is currently on newsstands.
