The women of 'Desperate Housewives', who have called Wisteria Lane home since 2004, will be departing from your television screens at the conclusion of its forthcoming eighth season, Deadline exclusively revealed today.
The show's premiere hooked 21.6 million viewers and although in recent years, Eva Longoria has almost single-handedly carried the show, it has remained the most-watched comedy series internationally every year since 2006.
Still, the decision to end the show is likely due to its recent bumps in the road.
Creator Marc Cherry stepped down as show-runner last season to focus on other projects, former cast-member Nicolette Sheridan slapped Cherry with a wrongful-termination lawsuit and the women just finalized deals to return in April.
The dramedy's eighth and final season will debut on Sunday, September 25th.
