Justin Timberlake's return to music, after a six-year hiatus, is officially a success. The "Suit & Tie" superstar sold an astounding 968,000 copies of his third solo album 'The 20/20 Experience', during its opening week resulting in a historic finish.
Not only is this the best opening frame of his solo career besting 2002′s 'Justified' (439K) and 2006′s 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' (684K), but it also ranks as the third largest opening week sales of a singer in the history of the SoundScan era, with only Usher's 'Confessions' in 2004 (1.10 million) and Garth Brooks' 'Double Live' in 1998(1.09 million) putting up stronger first-week numbers.
Mind-blowing considering the set has yet to produce an undeniable smash hit, with "Suit & Tie" peaking at No.3 on the Billboard Hot 100, but given the quality of the complete album, the feat is certainly well deserved. Watch his latest video for "Mirrors" below:
