Newcomer Lupita Nyong'o pulled out a win for Best Supporting Actress in tight race with Jennifer Lawrence at the 2014 Academy Awards for her debut outing in '12 Years A Slave'.
Held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on March 2nd, 2014, the Yale graduate also defeated Julia Roberts, Sally Hawkins and June Squibb for the emotionally-charged role as Patsy.
In her speech, the obviously nervous beauty thanked her family, her entire cast and director Steve McQueen for giving her this opportunity. Watch it beneath:
