
Long is set for the role of Hillary Whitney, which was played by Barbara Hershey in the Oscar-nominated original, and production on the made for television movie began yesterday (August 15th) in Vancover with the plot taking some twists from the 1988 film.
The new version moves from the east coast to the west coast with CC Bloom written as an aspiring singer from Los Angeles whose path crosses with Hillary Whitney, the daughter of a civil rights lawyer who struggles to find her own identity or path.
The remake will also feature updated renditions of classic songs used in the Garry Marshall feature, including "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "The Glory of Love", as well as, new tracks recorded specifically for the Lifetime movie, which will air sometime in 2017.
