Acting force Denzel Washington is our inaugural Film Legend honoree, an award bestowed upon an individual that has contributed outstanding works to the world of entertainment and made an unshakeable mark in the film industry.

'Nomadland' sneaks out a victory over 'The Trial of the Chicago 7' for Outstanding Feature Film, while the latter takes Outstanding Ensemble and the former ties with 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' for most wins at three.

Chad Bosewick becomes our first posthumous winner for Outstanding Lead Actor for his performance in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom', produced by our Film Legend honoree, while Andra Day, in a tight race, claims Outstanding Lead Actress for her debut role in 'The United States vs. Billie Holliday'. The first trailer for 'Fences', the big-screen adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning play, has arrived and if the teaser is any indication, Denzel Washington may need to make room on his trophy self for a third Academy Award.

The film, which netted Tony Award wins for both Washington and Viola Davis in 2010 and sees them reprise their roles as Troy and Rose Maxson, is set for a December 16th release in New York and Los Angeles before going wide on Christmas Day. Watch the teaser trailer beneath:

Paramount is hoping for some awards season love for 'Fences', the big-screen adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize- and Tony-winning play, which two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars in and directs alongside Viola Davis.

The upcoming feature film, which netted Tony Award wins for both Washington and Davis in 2010 and sees them reprise their roles as Troy and Rose Maxson, is set for a December 16th release in New York and Los Angeles before going wide on Christmas Day.

'Fences' is being produced by Washington with Scott Rudin and Todd Black, and examines race relations in the 1950s. It follows trash collector Troy, who dreamed of being baseball great, and lives with his wife Rose, son Cory and his younger brother Gabriel, an ex-soldier whose war injury to his head has caused him psychological damage. Baity roles to say the least!!!

In 'The Equalizer', which is slated to hit theaters on September 26th, Denzel Washington stars a as former black ops commando who faked his death for a quiet life in Boston comes out of his retirement to rescue a young girl and finds himself facing off with Russian gangsters.

The film re-teams Washington with his 'Training Day' director Antoine Fuqua and also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo. Watch the theatrical trailer beneath:

On Monday (February 7th), Ashanti was spotted at the New York City premiere of 'Safe House', the thriller starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds.

The singer, who will play a teacher in her next movie and contribute music to the upcoming Tupac biopic, posed with Washington and looked absolutely stunning.



After the premiere, the singer teamed up New York Giants champion and wide receiver Victor Cruz to host a party at Kiss & Fly nightclub, and it looks like the two enjoyed each other's company as they were snapped dancing and laughing.

Looking stunning in a purple jacket dress (by Black Halo), Ashanti was on hand to debut the 'Great Future Start Here' campaign for the Boys and Girls Club.

The R&B songstress was joined by Denzel Washington and LeBron James at The National Press Club in Washington D.C., on Wednesday, September 21st.
