With her sophomore album 'GIRL' now in stores and currently sitting atop the all-genre iTunes Albums chart, Grammy-winning singer Maren Morris, who will embark on a tour later this year, earns the honor of becoming Featured Artist of the Month for March.

For the first time in its eight-year history, the CMT Artists of the Year special was dedicated entirely to honoring country music’s women as Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman, and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott were the honored.

Last week, the Academy of Country Music announced the nominees for their forthcoming awards ceremony, and superstar Keith Urban leads the pack with seven nominations including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year for 'Ripcord'.

Miranda Lambert and newcomer Maren Morris, who will compete with Carrie Underwood for Female Vocalist, follow closely behind with six nominations each, while Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley will once again play triples duty by serving as hosts, performers and nominees.
