On Her New Album:
"I’m treating this as if it were my debut. It’s like I’m starting from scratch. This is the first time everyone will see who Rita Ora is. Artistically, I felt like when I first got signed, it was a race. I was just trying to please everybody, not realizing that it really should be about knuckling down to who you are as an artist."

On Taking Time To Rest: "I’ve never been more grateful for sleep than I am at this point. I used to hate it. It took a lot to mentally calm me down. But now I travel with a candle and a little lavender pillow. Obviously, I’m like any other twenty­something: I like to have a drink after my show and things like that, but it’s in moderation. It’s one of those things where the band goes out later and gets hammered, and you’ve got to be the one who just goes to bed."

On Her Celebrity Role Models:
"Jennifer [Lopez]. Gwen [Stefani]. And you can’t knock [Jessica] Alba!"

British-bred singer Rita Ora, who is hard at work on a new album, covers the July 2015 issue of Marie Claire and in the magazine, she opens up about her split from Calvin Harris, the world's highest-paid DJ, who is currently dating Taylor Swift.

If you recall, Ora was forced to cancel her performance of "I Will Never Let You Down" at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, after Harris, who produced the song, refused to approve it for television.

"There was a reason why I split up with him. And there was a reason why I'm at this point in my life where I feel like I have so much musical freedom, and I don't have to explain myself to anybody," the singer says in the new issue, on newsstands June 23rd.

"It was more of a thing where I was in awe. I was at that point in my relationship where I felt he could do no wrong. I thought he had my back and that he'd never steer me wrong. But then 'I Will Never Let You Down' came out, and everything started to go a bit weird. I don't know if it was because business was mixed with personal or what." Rising starlet Rita Ora is stuck between the love of two men in the official music video for "Poison", which was shot in London and directed by Cameron Duddy.

Last night (February 22nd), the 87th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and aside from the award speeches, Rita Ora, Jennifer Hudson, Maroon 5, Tim McGraw, Common and John Legend were among the night's performers.

Aside from Hudson, who performed during the telecast's In Memoriam segment, the other performers sung the Best Original Song nominees as Ora took on "Ungrateful" from 'Behind the Lights', Adam Levine and crew performed "Lost Stars" from 'Begin Again', McGraw gave a heartfelt performance of Glen Campbell's "I'm Not Gonna Miss You", and Common and John Legend earned a standing ovation from their uplifting performance of "Glory" from 'Selma'.

Over the weekend, Iggy Azalea made her debut appearance on 'Saturday Night Live', where she served as the night's musical guest as Jim Carrey hosted.

The rapper, who will release 'Reclassified' on November 24th, performed a medley of her hits "Fancy" and "Black Widow", for which she was joined by Rita Ora, and returned later in the show for the first performance of her new single, "Beg For It", which featured a awkward and much talked about appearance from Danish singer MØ. The upcoming film adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', just added a couple more of players to the cast. Singer Rita Ora, who has only previously booked a couple of cameo appearances, has been cast as Mia, the adopted younger sister of Christian Grey.

Based on EL James' popular erotic novels, the film has already set Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as the leads and yesterday, Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden signed as the billionaire's adoptive mother. The film hits theaters in February 2015.
