Last night (May 24th), 'The Voice' crowned its tenth winner in an epic two-hour finale that saw Alisan Porter win the singing competition, which has yet to create a star, and coach Christina Aguilera score the first win for a female coach in the show's history.
The finale included performances from Ariana Grande, who teamed up with Aguilera on "Dangerous Woman", Zayn, who performed "Like I Would", and Little Big Town, who performed their new Pharrell Williams-produced single "One of Those Days". Watch below:

After a dramatic performance on Sunday's American Music Awards, Taylor Swift returned to 'The Voice', after serving as an adviser earlier this season, to perform her No.1 single, "Blank Space", which made her the first female artist in history to replace herself at the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 when it took the place of "Shake It Off".
Following the performance, the 24-year-old superstar chatted with host Carson Daly about having the chance to advise this year’s contestants and see them progress throughout the season.

R&B superstar Usher broke the streak when he became the first coach other than Adam Levine or Blake Shelton to lead one of his team members to a victory on 'The Voice', but before he led Josh Kaufman to the sixth season's title, the crooner teamed up with the Maroon 5 front-man for a duet performance.
Fully clothed (unfortunately) and taking on D'Angelo's classic "Untitled (How Does It Feel)", the studs utilized their falsettos with Raymond taking the lead for a bulk of the performance. Not as good as the original, but enjoyable. Watch their cover beneath:

Fresh off their Emmy win for Outstanding Reality-Competition Series, 'The Voice' kicked off their fifth season premiere with original judges Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green performing "I Love Rock 'N' Roll".
Honestly, the award is a little surprising given the show has failed to produce a star and 'American Idol', which helped changed the landscape of television, never took home the covet trophy, but congrats all the same. Later in the season, iconic artist Cher, songwriter Ryan Tedder, and breakout stars Ed Sheeran and Miguel will link up with the coaches to help prepare their teams for battle. Showing off his versatility as a performer, Usher opened Monday's episode of 'The Voice', with a performance of "Twisted" and as usual, the stud put on dynamic showcase that left the crowd in awe and his co-mentors fully engaged.
The single is lifted from his latest studio album 'Looking 4 Myself', which started at No.1 on the Billboard 200 last June and ranks as the second lowest-selling album of his career with less than 500,000 copies sold. Maybe, this dazzling performance will encourage some of those who missed out to finally give the stellar album a listen. Watch it below:

The ratings-improved third season of 'The Voice' came to a close this week with Cassadee Pope edging out Terry McDermott to become the youngest and the first female competitor to win the competition.
In addition, her win also gave coach Blake Shelton his second consecutive win in the music-based competition, which he still refers to as his side-job despite his music and touring career seemingly taking a back step.
Aside from Pope taking home the title and a recording contract with Universal Music Group, the finale
also featured some performances from three of the biggest names in popular music.
Rihanna was first up to bat with a performance of "Diamonds", the lead single and No.1 smash from her seventh album 'Unapologetic'. The single is currently enjoying its eleventh week atop the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
While she avoided some of the high notes in the song, the performance is the latest reminder that the singer is finally learning how to use her voice and control the nasally sound that plagued her performances early in her career as a artist.
Kelly Clarkson hit the stage next with finalists Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott for a performance of her latest single "Catch My Breath". Dressed in an ill-fitting black ensemble, Clarkson showed the two contestants how a seasoned pro with over a decade of experience in the industry works and as always, her voice was spot on.
Bruno Mars was the last performer to hit the stage and this was a truly a example of saving the best for last as the crooner soared above all of the other featured musical guests with a stunning rendition of "When I Was Your Man".
The song is taken from his perfect sophomore studio album 'Unorthodox Jukebox', which exceeded expectations and started off at No.2 on the Billboard 200 with 192,000 copies sold (more than triple the first week sales of his debut album 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans').
In addition, her win also gave coach Blake Shelton his second consecutive win in the music-based competition, which he still refers to as his side-job despite his music and touring career seemingly taking a back step.

The mentors took center stage on 'The Voice', last night (April 16th). Christina Aguilera belted out her hit "Fighter" (with her team) and Maroon 5 premiered their newly-released single "Payphone", alongside budding rapper Wiz Khalifa.
Christina, Christina, Christina! Why do you continuously do this to yourself? Not only was the outfit unflattering, but the vocals were screechy and strained. As for Adam and his band, the performance actually made me like the single a bit more.

Aside from scoring the covet post-Superbowl, the show has added Christina Milian as the new Social Media Correspondent and Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Robin Thicke, Neyo and more as Celebrity Advisers to the finalists.
While this stellar line-up of guests certainly raises the bar, for the music-based competition to truly contend with a juggler like 'American Idol', then the talent level of the hopefuls also has to increase. Watch the season two trailer below:
